All players are REQUIRED to attend at least one tryout session before each season. The tryout format can consist of skill work and team competition evaluation. All players are evaluated on skills demonstrated during the tryout.
Players/Parents will receive email notification of their team placement within 24 hours of their tryouts. Players and their families will have 48 hours to confirm their invitation and sign up for the season otherwise they are assumed to be forfeiting their spot on the team.
Tryouts happen twice a year. Once for the Fall/Winter season, typically in September, and once for the Spring/Summer, typically in March.
The players that are selected for the Raptors program are those that the coaches and the Athletic Director feels will allow the program to field the most competitive teams. New tryouts are conducted every year and a player selected the previous season is not guaranteed a roster spot in subsequent seasons.
Teams are composed of a minimum of 8 players to a maximum of 10 players.
We try to have two teams at each grade level, PURPLE & WHITE.
The Purple team’s coach submits a list of his desired team and their positions to the Athletic Director for approval. The White team’s coach does the same after the composition of the Purple team is determined.
While playing time is valuable to each players’ overall growth. We understand players need to be able to apply the skills and fundamentals learned in practice to live situations. Our coaches try to make sure we are finding as much quality playing time as possible for each player. Equal playing time is NOT guaranteed.
